About Me
Dementia and Your Loved One

I've been a caretaker of an elderly woman with dementia for over two years. I've seen the effects of this mental affliction, and how devastating it can be to loved ones. This is why I am a firm believer in seeking a professional diagnosis, so the patient may receive necessary care and treatment. Once diagnosed at the onset of symptoms, a plan can be devised. Through social interaction and daily care, my charge has achieved a higher quality of life. If your loved one has been diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, you can make a difference. Love will find a way.

Features Of A Good Doggy Day Care Center

Vickie Armstrong

If you are a pet owner who works long hours or must be away from your dog for extended periods of time, then a doggy day care center may be the perfect solution for you and your dog. A good doggy day care center will do much more than merely watch your dog and keep them safe. The staff at the doggy day care center will evaluate your dog's temperament and needs and then devise an individualized learning plan for your dog. Your dog can benefit greatly from attending a good doggy day care center.

A doggy day care center can also be invaluable if you have a dog with problems or issues. The trained staff at doggy day care centers can help with the following issues:

  • Separation anxiety when left alone.
  • Uncontrollable barking, biting, chewing, licking, and digging.
  • Aggression and fear of other dogs, people and sounds.
  • Jumping on people and other dogs.
  • Hyperactive or overexcited behavior.

A good doggy day care center will safely expose your dog to other dogs and teach them new skills to make them dog and people friendly. A good doggy day care center will provide the following teaching and training:

  • Socialization to unfamiliar dogs, unfamiliar people, and unfamiliar situations.
  • Daily exercise such as dog walking, ball throwing, running, and playing on an activity course, and swimming (if a pool is available).
  • Organized group play and sharing such as tag, hide and seek, and catch.
  • Discipline, respect, and obedience for a human pack leader.
  • Doggy skills such as how to correctly grab an object (with a soft grab and not a strong bite), how to wait in turn, good doggy manners and agility.

When searching for a good doggy day care center, make an appointment to see the facilities and check that it has the following features:

  • Adequate staff to watch and supervise all dogs at all times.
  • Clean, safe indoor and outdoor play areas.
  • Organized, supervised group play with other dogs.
  • Fresh water provided at all times and food provided as needed.
  • Careful screening of all dogs for up-to-date immunizations, temperament/personality, fleas and ticks and skin irritations.
  • Access to a veterinarian should your dog become injured or sick.
  • Lots of active, playful and happy dogs.

A doggy day care center can be a safe, clean and fun place for your dog to spend time. A good doggy day care center will keep your dog safe and healthy and also introduce your dog to invaluable socialization, new play activities and new skills. All of this can help your beloved pet to be well-rounded, well-exercised, well-behaved and calm in all situations. A doggy day care center like All Pets Hospital Ltd can be the perfect solution for you and your dog.
